Help! Cracked beak!

It broke off sometime this morning. Here is his beak now. The white/clear gel is antibiotic ointment.

Is that the end of his tongue, or the soft core of the upper beak?

Do cranes have crops? You could get a really long piece of aquarium tubing to tube him. Are grains part of his diet? If so, go get some Kaytee Exact baby bird food and tube him.

I have no idea. I have never been able to feel a crop.

He stands 4 feet tall so his neck is super long. I'm not sure how to tube feed a crane compared to a chicken. I thought of mixing egg yolk in his water since he is drinking.
If i do that will a hard boiled egg yolk be better so he doesn't pick up any bad bacteria from the raw yolk?

What does he normally eat?
