I hatched some chicks yesterday. 5 of them are fine and 1 of them isn’t. This chick had trouble hatching. He opened a little bit and stopped. We assisted him. He was a little bigger than the other ones and was acting very weak. We incubated all the chicks on the same day. They all hatched on day 21. I don’t think it was too early or late when it was hatched. It’s been a day now and he still hasn’t gotten better. He is rolling around and is chirping. He is usually sleeping. I help him eat and drink. He just isn’t able to stand. Is he too weak? What do I do? I have him in a different area than the others. I tried putting him with the others, but they only trampled him. I have him on a surface with the top of the incubator on him. I also have some grippy cloth to help him move.

I would get a heating pad prop him up on you to keep him warm try to get some electrolytes in him probiotics water water if you can.

Does he have heat in that area? If he doesn't he needs that ASAP! Can you get a video of him rolling around/trying to stand? If you roll him over, is he able to stand or at least lay on he stomach, or does he roll over?

He was under incubator heat. I moved him under a heating light. I’m not able to post a video. When I roll him over, he usually falls back down. Only once he was able to lay on his stomach.

Have you offered him some sugar water or any electrolytes? Hatching is hard work and really drains them.

Sadly sometimes they just don't make it in spite of our efforts. No matter the outcome, I hope you realize that you did everything you could do.
