Do not feel bad about the predator. We had one injured in the fall. The coyote went through a three strand electric fence before pushing the hardware cloth and then pulling one duck out by her head. We put a second layer of hardware cloth on the outside and Rou recovered from her wounds. We are all learning as we go and the help from these people on this forum is the bestThank you, I hope she is too! I'm so sad we lost one and that she got so injured. We're going to do our best to make sure that doesn't happen again.
Most birds do not enjoy being tube fed, and I say most because I had one that did like it, lol. By tubing her you are keeping her from dying from dehydration and starvation, so keep up the good work and know that you are doing way more good than harm.
Oh, and welcome to Team Tube Feeding!
