Yes miracle is getting bigger and dorkier as the days go by. Since it is winter here I finally had a warm enough day to let her swim, and she is the only duck I've met scared of water!!! She took an hour to actually do anything in the water! Haha.
The silkie isn't getting better sadly but still trying.
The chick has not grown at all since I got him/her. And we decided to name it Yeti.
My mom kept calling it a fugly monster, but I got her to settle with yeti.

That is really funny. I'm sure instinct will take over, especially if you introduce her to her parents. I'm sure she'll be swimming and playing in the water before long!

Aww. Poor baby Yeti. Cute name. I hope that he/she makes it. More pics of them both please? They are both just too cute.

Turns out yeti has hook worms and giardia.
And possibly Merriks disease.
I'm not 100% sure how to treatment the parasites or how to test for Merricks.
If yeti does have merreks i will have to euthanize him/her.

I just finished reading Miracle's story and it is unbelievable. I have no experience with ducks but Miracle really is a little miracle. I'm so glad she made it through and you are an awesome bird momma! I hope Yeti pulls through! Best of luck!

She is learning to wear a harness with ease, is cuddly as ever, and has made a new friend with our cat!
