Help! first time hatching!

Silkies understand do not have a skull on the top of there heads, there skulls are underneath there brains, what happens is some silkies will get what is called a High Vault, the best way to think of it is like a crested head, LOL. When they hatch they will look like they have a swelled up head when really its just there vaults well it's actually there brain protuding in an upward position..
My splash hatches these guys out all the time, Not all silkies have it though. but when they get older it does make it difficulty for them to see as well as get out of there shells,

The duckling is doing better now. It's head is straight but it's umbilical cord is out along with what looks kind of like an organ? We put some colloidal silver gel on it. It's peeping and we have it in a separate bucket under the lamp by the others

I think the cord fell off. The red thing looks smaller since he hatched at 11:30

Another chick!! 5 chicks total out of 7 chicken eggs. 3 look like SS, one looks silkie/SS mix, and this new one has brahma feet

That's his cord he's ok good job in your hatching.
