Help! Gosling with hard crop won't move

The problem wasn't that I didn't offer water. I have 3 waterers for them that I change 3 times daily, plus a kiddie pool. It was that she stopped eating and hard a hard crop. I was syringe watering her for a couple hours and massaging her crop. She finally pooped and started drinking voluntarily, but can't use her legs, is having head shaking spasms, and is refusing all food. I have been informed it could be a niacin issue.

Oh I am so sorry I did not mean to sound like you were doing anything
incorrectly and to apologize if I sounded so I was just trying to say water
is important and a lot of people try to treat water birds like chickens but
you on the other hand sound like you fully understand how to treat and
care for your goslings and keep up the good work and care for your
feathered friends as they can live up to 30 years .....

I am Completely new to both chickens and geese. Only my childhood memories Og my parents birds to draw on. The feed store did not sell waterfowl feed, so I purchased chick starter and turkey starter both unmedicated and mixed it. The feeds tore assured me that many people fed that to their geese without problems. Now my gosling is sick, and I am tring to save her. A person on another thread told me niacin was the issue and it just might be. Unfortunately I can't get brewers yeast this late at night. I could only find time released pills. I crushed a pill, added some to her food and water and then made her food a mash. She still won't eat and only takes sips of water every 30minutes. She is very weak, but hasn't given up yet, so I'm still fighting for her. Tomorrow I can go to GNC and see if they have brewers yeast, but I have to get her through the night. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Alright now I have the full picture of the situation and yes this is just how I feed my water fowl booth Turkey and Chick starter with water and let sit over night and serve in the morning and if you do this you will learn to add just enough water and as they get older the Turkey and rice and some tomes rice or even some hog feed as it has a lot of grass in it and heat and make it in to a mush and cool sit over night and serve in the morning I do this every day for years and my oldest goose mamma is over 12 years old so it must work but I am worried mostly about your little one right now and please I am only trying to help and will and now that you full explained what your situation is hopefully I can help you better so I
will defiantly try.......

Are you massaging her crop regularly as this helps with the braking up faze .....


I have tried to show my children and grandchildren how to raise
poultry for many years and my oldest is now 35 years old and
is surprisingly showing his boy how to take care of birds so it
really thrills me when you wrote you are remembering from
what your parents showed you

Sorry, my husband took the gosling so I could have a power nap. Yes I have been massaging her crop. I do notice that she keeps curling her head under her body. And her head shakes more if I try to straighten it out.

Oh ya she is in pain for sure poor thing well get some rest
so you can take care of that little gosling ......

Have you tried putting any water into her or do you even
have a syringe to help put floods in to her ....

I have a syringe, but she is drinking a bit on her own. Her crop is empty now and she did poop. But she can't use her legs, is refusing all food, and is curling her neck.

I'm sorry to inform everyone that my gosling died about an hour ago. Her neck got real tense and twisted to the point that she couldn't open her mouth to drink and I could not syringe water into her because I couldn't staighten her neck. If anyone can tellme what could have caused this I would've grateful. It has been suggested that she may have been niacin deficient, because throughout her whole ordeal she could not stand up, and her wings were dropped. She also had head shaking spasms. I would like to prevent this from happening to her 5 larger sibling.
