help!!!! i thought i had all pullets but i heard somebody do a wonky one....who was naughty??? pics

I swore with my wyandottes that I had a rooster in the group as someone would crow every so often..  My 89 year old mother has told me that she has seen many crowing pullets that sometimes when they are young it's just something they do.

Sure enough I did have all pullets, even though 3 people heard the crowing gal.

i have heard that hens will crow

I have a hen that cock-a-doodle doos better than my rooster. And she lays me an egg every second day. I see and hear her doing it all the time. She is a yearling.

Scramble is the roo,his crest is spikey. (spiky?)
Spiky? I've never heard of that being an indicator of gender. If Scramble was a boy and is 17+ weeks - he'd have very notable saddle feathers. I don't see a single one.

i think its maybe scramble the polish...i heard they can be tough to tell
Before they reach 12 weeks - sure.. It's a toss up based on comb development and crest shape, but after 12 weeks - they get saddle and hackle feathers like most other breeds - which makes it very obvious.

Worth noting that this cockerel above is 18 weeks old in the picture.
