Help! Is this a prolapsed vent?

Stitches in for a week but apparently if they’re not bothering her and she has no problems laying an egg they don’t need to be taken out. I’ll keep watch on her and see how we go. Where my mum lives is rural so lots of people have cattle, goats and chickens which is why the vet has some knowledge of chickens even though not too many farmers would bother (or be able to afford) taking a chicken to the vet. At $200 for one chicken I wouldn’t blame them.
I'm happy for you, your mum and the chook that you were able to get into the vet. So many vets here won't see chickens. Even farm vets! I hope she recovers very soon!

Vet cut away all the bad stuff, cleaned her up, antiseptic wash and cream etc and reinserted the prolapse. One small stitch either side of the vent. There was an infection so she’s on antibiotics. Keeping her inside at the moment and blocking out as much light as I can. Will let her out to play with her sisters later though. She didn’t lay an egg yesterday and I’m hoping she won’t today either. Only did 3 small watery poos during the night but I guess that’s because I didn’t give her much to eat yesterday. Just gave her some food with added powdered egg shell and she’s eating. Is there anything else I should be doing or not doing?
I'm so glad you were able to see the vet!
Please keep us posted on her progress.

Great job getting her to the vet! This sounds really promising? What antibiotic was prescribed? Do you mind sharing dosing information and the weight of your girl?
Oxymav 100. One scoop full of powder in a litre of water. No idea what she weighs but she’s an Australorp and she’s a big girl.

Gonzo definitely not her sprightly self today but she looks really well. Red comb, stands tall and most importantly vent looks great. I let her out to get some sunshine with her sisters. After 15 minutes she hopped into the nesting box and sat there for 2 hours. When she came out (no egg) she sat in the carport drinking the water off mums newly washed car. So I thought right, if you’re not going to forage then back inside to the pen where there’s the antibiotic water which you’re supposed to be drinking. She’s not eating a lot but I think she’s ok.

Update on Gonzo. Her appetite is back. Foraging. Running. Jumping. Loves a cuddle. Looks like a show chicken she looks so good. Vent is clean and still intact. Droppings look normal. No bad smells. Still hasn’t laid an egg but then neither have some of the other girls. At the moment only getting 2 eggs a day from 6 hens. Probably because I’ve limited their treats as they’ve become fussy, expecting treats all the time and not eating enough of their layer feed. Will call vet today to see if the stitches need to be removed or we just leave them be.
Thanks everyone for your comments and concern.
