I have 60, 3 week old chicks and out of the variety I think the little Buckeyes and the Chanteclers are the absolute sweetest. They have a ton of personality. The Buckeyes are a deep red colour and I have the white Chanteclers. They are already great foragers and even chase blackflies and mosquitos to eat.

I totally suggest Buff Orpingtons, they so friendly, hardy, and the best of the best mothers!!!! I also suggest any kind of Wyandotte especially the Silver Laced Wyandottes. They are friendly as well and absolutely BEAUTIFUL!!!!! GOOD LUCK!!!!!!!!

I loved my Buff Orphingtons for a gentle bird. I want to try some Buckeyes. Got some Polish (for my son), Cuckoo Marans and EE's in the bator.
