Actually, it looks like a mallard in eclipse plumage. We don't get the ones with darker bills here. Weird things happen in eclipse birds though, so it would explain the darker bill. If it is a mallard, it's wild so they would still be illegal. Look around for a rescue or rehab to take the ducklings once they hatch.

They're only in Hawaii though, and are endangered so I doubt there's one in Indiana. They do look similar though.
