Help my broody hen is breaking the eggs she is sitting on

My broody hen is breaking the eggs she is sitting on. My other Brodie’s were great, any ideas what’s wrong.

well ……I moved her over, maybe the eggs weren’t fertilized, and she knew that. Does anyone have experience with broody hens, this is my third go around….and not at all like the other ones

She might just not be a great choice for hatching a brood.

I have to assume she's breaking the eggs, whether it's deliberate or she's just not careful with them and is doing it by accident, I don't know. But since you mentioned having successful broody mamas in the past, sounds like it'd be better to see if one of those birds goes broody again and have them raise babies, rather than a more problematic bird.

I agree with you 100% , because it’s my hubby’s favourite hen, I’ll give her one more chance, I really thought all hens that go broody are automatically good mamas, at least I know now,
