In the Brooder
i received chicks through mail for the first time and I've had them for abt three days but one of my silkie chicks had been lethargic since we got her, at first she seemed normal, she slept a lot but I saw her eat and drink just fine then sleep again. By second day she was wobbling on one foot unable to walk around well super off balance because she couldn't put weight on one foot and I evaluated her and I could not see a break or any cause of injury besides maybe being trampled but that was my best guess. I set her apart in a small box so she could sleep and not be trampled but now by day three she is practically limp, and can't hold her weight. I've been hand feeding her and giving her water with electrolytes and we tried sugar as well. I can see her fighting but I have absolutely no idea how to help! I feel helpless and I don't know what I've done wrong! This is my first time with chivks so young and I feel like I've failed! I sit by her box in horror terrified of when she will stop breathing. She goes through periods where she tries and gets up for maybe 20-30 minutes and she's been taking food and water well when I feed it to her but she's so limp and she falls asleep mid swallow and I've been trying so bad but she JJST keeps getting worse! I'm new to this and have been researching so hard but I fear she wont make the night and I was hoping someone could help! She also twitches when she's falling asleep. It started on the third day and she extends her wings and reaches her neck out every few seconds. She sleeps on her stomach face down, wings outstretched and she opens her mouth when she breathes in her sleep. No discharge or anything I've been through the most common causes of death and ms JJST can't find one that matches everything and I'm going insane
she's fighting so hard this JJST breaks my heart
