I haven't experienced this since I don't own any yet. I guess the only comfort I can give is that it's better she died peacefully with you near her than in a factory farm

So sorry to hear this is the end for her.

You are not alone in your loss. Many here have had that heartbreak of trying so hard to save a little one that just could not make it.

I like to think they are in a sunny field of flowers now doing chicken things. Silly perhaps, but it hurts less that way for me.
