help! my ducks are sick and i need some tips

I have an outlet set up with a dimmer ( on a cord, you should never do this to a permanently installed one) so I can adjust the heat without having to keep moving the heat lamp or turning it on or off, you still have to pay attention to it because as the room warms so does the brooder, but it made life a whole lot easier vs the chicks the year before.
this would work for you provided your heat lamp isn't more than 300 W
