Help! My last barred rock is on one leg! Literally!!!!!

Can anyone else instruct me on what to do for the leg injury?
I'm referring to how to/if I need to bandage it.
Should I go ahead and assume the leg is broke and try and brace it??

Also update-
we are back to eating whole slices of cucumbers. Maybe she isn't giving up quite yet.

Maybe I missed photos of the leg?

Does she move it all or will she straighten it?
With legs, it's hard to know - if it's a break you need to know where it's located so you can get it lined up properly. Splinting could cause more damage is you do it in the wrong place. An xray may be in order for the leg.

I doubt the leg is broken. Looks more like a superficial flesh wound. Also looks like the fly strike started due to an impacted preening gland. She will heal with time. Just keep it clean as best as you can and keep up the supportive care. Chick starter and vitamins in her water are a good idea. Vetericyn is great stuff for treating wounds. Comes in a spray for easy application.

These are from yesterday. I am getting ready for another soak bath after I get the boys to bed and then will take fresh pictures.

Should the old skin be cut away?

I would leave the skin for now, try to keep the wound moist with triple antibiotic ointment or Vetericyn. It looks like it's just wounded, she's probably really sore from the others picking at her. Give her a few days to see how it goes - it's only been, what, 2days?

Could the watery diarrhea be a symptom of her being egg bound?
She is a 5/6 month old BR...

Sorry, I wasn't sure if exposed muscle was considered superficial or not.
She won't move her chicken toesies. They stay curled. I have not seen her move it.

Yes. Two days. Okay thanks.
