Hey all!
The other night, the wind slammed my coop door shut (it closes at top) where my bantam chicken was sitting. thankfully I was Outside when this occurred and saved her within seconds. She immediately went into shock and I thought She was dying. I separated her, wrapped her loosely in a towel, and gave her small amounts of electrolytes via a syringe. Yesterday she became more alert! Thank god! I assessed Her- no wounds or anything but I believe Her leg is broken. It has now been almost two days. She eats and drinks on her own confined in a small dog cage. But can’t move much. Also, after she tries- she becomes very lethargic and sleeps a lot.
Is this normal? How much time do I give Her? I love Her so much I want her to fully recover!
