And, they do scream a lot after hatching

This didn’t happen with my broody, so I attempted to mimic the conditions in my home made incubator. I covered the newly hatched chick with a towel, and made sure it was suggly comfy, lo and behold, no cheeping Ofcourse this isn’t realistic for store bought incubators. but maybe just turning the lights off, or covering with a larger box will help...

I guess incubator chicks tend to cheep a lot as they are on a hard surface and feel exposed, due to the excess space and light around them.
