I'm up at 6:30 agnes have been working too hard so I won't be up tonight. But you have humidity up and there's air getting to the baby so I think you're good for for tonight. Could be 2 more days, mine were.
Agree, Thanks Rural... im tired, my brain is already asleep i believe....:lau
Gnight yall... see ya in the morning.

Dont worry saraem... youre doing great..:hugs

Just caught up . . I haven't hatched goslings but I have hatched some ducks, some have been call ducks that have required a bit of assisting. :)
You have a good team assembled here already but I will be up for a while longer tonight if you need a cheer leader :hugs

So I'm still battling humidity. I keeps dropping back to 40-45%. I'm positive it's my homemade incubator, made out of a small storage bin that was given to me (it has hatched chicken eggs by them). I add hot bowls of water with wash cloths, it gets up to about 58 tops, then drops back down 10 mins later, and I repeat. I can see the beak thru the safety hole i made, and its very faintly hitting the egg, hitting it with the top of its bill, like the head butting backwards almost, not able to use the pointy end of the bill with the way its positioned. Is this egg doomed?

If it is malpositioned then it'll likely need further help to hatch, at the right time. We've all been hatching call ducks like shaw said, that somewhat rarely hatch without help. We aren't scared!

I do think getting a handle on the humidity would be good though. You don't want him to dry out too much. Maybe try rolling a washcloth up then putting one end in a warm coffee cup of hot water, kind of like a wick?

Any changes this morning?
