Did you touch it with your bear hands? If you did wash your hands immediately. Bats are high carriers of rabies and other diseases.

Pictures would help. Let’s start with basic wound care.
Flush the injury with saline solution, and remove any debris. A different wound cleanser can be used as well.
Apply a thick layer of plain Neosporin ointment to the wound.
Since it’s in an easy access spot I would also loosely wrap.

oh heck no i wouldn't dare
it was just flying around and i didn't want to leave the baby quail ,a hurt bantam ,and bantam pullets in over night with the shop door being open so i had to get the bat out but herding it with me and a broom
(and no i was not trying to hit the bat with the broom i was just trying to look bigger so it would go the other way)

if my chicken had a big hole in its chest, i’d stop posting about rescuing bats and get some pictures immediately, along with information about how the bird is behaving.

the bird is acting fine eating and drinking a ton but thats the problem it just fall out of her.
she has pooped within last 3 hours
