Clean with betadine or a saline solution. Put a triple antibiotic ointment without pain killer on it, something like neosporin. Posting pictures of the injuries will make it easier to advise. You need to watch for fly strike too. If at all possible keep him in an area that is fly free. Fly strike i when flies lay their eggs in the wound, then they hatch into maggots.
