Help! Help!
My golden sexlink is about a year old. I believe she has a crop issue. I think that this has been building for a few days (3-4 days). Yesterday she ate a lot, but then distanced herself from the other hens. Not sure if she has been pooping or not. I gave her some water mixed with a little ACV and olive oil about 8:30 this morning. I massaged the area gently but wasn’t sure if I should. She feels warm to me. I didn’t smell any odor coming from her. So I’m inclined to think it’s impacted. I have done some reading from this site and am thinking of using coconut oil next and massaging more, longer and harder? Any other tips?
How often should I massage the crop?. How long does it take to resolve?

Sometimes crop problems are indicative to problems further down in the digestive tract like a blockage. They also can be from things like internal problems that impede the digestive system. Stuff like tumors pushing on the intestines. I personally have had no luck resolving a crop problem long term.

Hopefully @Wyorp Rock or @Eggcessive can help with stuff you can try. Wishing you luck.

Does she lay eggs?
Photos of her and her poop may be helpful.

Check her crop first thing in the morning, see if it's empty.

When you felt the crop today, what was it like? Hard, soft, air or fluid filled, doughy, etc.?
IF the crop is Sour, then don't massage. If you think it's another issue like impacted, then massaging is o.k.
This article is very good, I have used these methods. Give it a read and let us know how her crop feels in the morning. https://www.backyardchickens.com/ar...w-to-know-which-one-youre-dealing-with.73607/

Can you get photos of her eyes and what she looks like?
Do you see pin feathers coming in?

What is she doing that makes you think she is blind? Do you have a video of it? Upload video to youtube and provide a link.

When we move our hand toward her head, she doesn’t move or blink. She is pecking at the air. She uses her beak and extended her next to find “safe spaces” like a wall or a tree to be next to. As well as to find water and food.
I don’t have any photos of her eyes, but the appear normal. Nothing opaque or dilated or keyhole shaped.

Is there a chance she ate something toxic (poison, fertilizer, weed control, motor oil, moldy feed, rotten compost, dead animal etc.)?

Pecking at the air sounds neurological. If you haven't done so, cage her so she feels more secure. Put her food/water in the same place each time - preferably hanging on the cage secured so she's not knocking it over.
I would give her poultry vitamins that contain E and B1 like Poultry Cell or you can give human vitamins (400IU Vitamin E and 1/4 tablet B-Complex).

Have you added any new birds within the last 30 days?

Poisons!? We let the girls out I. Our yard. We have not used anything in our yard in the past 2 years. We have had the hens for a year. The only thing I could think is we have black bark in our yard. I would think that could potentially be toxic, but it has been there longer than the chickens.
Here are a few photos of her eyes. I’m having a hard time figuring out how to load the video

For video, upload to youtube and provide a link.

I wasn't accusing you or anything like that about the poisons, sometimes a bird might accidentally ingest something toxic and that will result in neurological symptoms.

Is she doing any better?

Oh, I didn’t think you were accusing me. I had just never thought of it. I wish I could send you the video. She really has no ability to find her food or water. I’m trying to associate sound with water container and food dish. She is staying inside the coop.o we have food and water in there with her. I’m really at a loss not sure what to do. I feel horrible. With her not eating or drinking much, I fear she won’t be here long. 😞
