I posted another thread about how I brough three of fly grandparents chickens home to treat for mites. I bought permethrin, and permethrin dust and have done two dustings and sprayings already and have seen one more signs of any mites. It was last week I did the last spraying and I noticed a yellow "film" under there wings where I had sprayed permethrin on there skin. I assumed it wa dried permethrin and posted a comment bout it on my old thread to see if it was anything concerning. No one responded, and I forgot about it. A couple minuets ago I caught the rooster i brough home after he escaped form his treatment pen. When he flapped his wings noticed the "film" was still there but it had turned grey and was more wet. I can't really describe it but I have attached pictures. I haven't done anything about it since posting this, like washing it off because last time I bathed them for treatment, all three got hypothermia! I don't want to get them to cold with the water. Thanks!

The pictures are of opposite wings, one is a close up and the other is not, it doesn't smell good either. It smells rotten. I really hope you can help! Avery

I know!!! I am totally confused! Could it be the the permethrin? He is young and the other two ladies I sprayed don't have it, just him? What can I do? Should I washout off?? I don't want to give him hypothermia, and at least when I accidentally did it was 80 degrees! Its only around 50 right now so its a bit cold to get him wet! Is there anything I can do!!!

I don't see how it could be a wound under his wing on both sides? We have kept them in a small pen the whole time they have been here, and no one should have been in a situation where they could have gotten wounded. And it must have happened between now and the last spraying since I sprayed there last time. Her was a flakey yellow "crust/film" when I sprayed last time. I assumed it wa dried permethrin and sprayed over it again with permethrin. I posted about the crust, but never got response. HTak you for responding so quickly! Avery
I am trying to get more clear pics now

Sounds like the yellow crust was an injury or site the mites had aggravated so badly it caused the typical yellow chicken pus crust. I'm confident that chicken is on the mend. If you have some blu-kote just give those hot spots a spritz. Otherwise clean and apply some triple antibiotic is my 2 cents.
