Help!!!! What is going on after treating for mites!!!!!

Oh and I’ve given them scratch grains in the past but not currently, they have a large yard to free range in and I just feed them laying pellets.

I am sorry! Are you sure she isn't getting her blood sucked by red mites? They come out at night, and live in the coop during the day. The yellow crust could be from the mites aggravating the skin so badly, that it is covered in puss crust. Check at nigh with a light, and see if you can see the mites crawling on the chickens. Is she lethargic, droopy pale comb and face, egg production down?

She’s doing the same as the other two I lost. She’s hiding more and I don’t think she’s eating or drinking unless I take her to the feed or water. Her skin all over has dried yellowed flakes but no injuries underneath. I’ve seen no mites and I only used the poultry mite powder. I Can’t figure this out and I really don’t want to lose this hen. I’ve been hunting everywhere but I can’t find my book on poultry disease, I have no idea what this is.
Where is this located on the body? Are these scabs all over the body or just in this one place?
Trim away the feathers from that so we can get a better look.
To me this looks like injury of some type, but hard to tell.

It’s all over her body there’s no injury, I checked everywhere. That yellowed dried skin comes up and it looks healthy underneath. There aren’t even scratches.

Can you get some more photos of the other patches?
If possible, what it looks like under the patch too.

What do you feed including treats?
What breed of birds are they?
Have they been vaccinated for Marek's?
Do you have a rooster?
How are they housed? Coop/run? Any photos?
You have had more than one bird with this and they passed on? How many and what were their symptoms - what did they do - stop eating, couldn't walk, etc.

Im not sure, but I checked everyone at night and found nothing. A few months back I saw a mite on an egg and one on a chickens leg ( at night) but I haven’t seen anything since :(

Yes I’ll take more photos tomorrow.

Right now the only treats I have are the dried meal worms.

I have blue Partridge Brahmas ( none seem affected) this hen is RIR, one Golden Phoenix and a Sexlink

They are not vaccinated for Marek’s

I have three roosters a Brahma, a juvenile Brahman and a little golden Phoenix. I have 11 hens, I had 14 but a hawk got one and I lost two Deathlayers to whatever this hen is suffering from.

they have a large fenced yard, which sometimes doubles when I open the dogs yard up to them. I don’t keep any dog food outside. They are housed in a large metal shed I believe is 6’x7’ with a roost.

the two girls I lost were both deathlayers and I thought their weakness was a genetic defect. One lost weight and died without any other symptom. The other became weak, she would get startled easier, she became dirty and would run everywhere. I thought maybe she was getting stressed because she was low in the pecking order. She started to smell. I bathed her and kept her separated to see if it was stress from the other birds keeping her from food and water. Treated them all for mites, stripped the shed and I wormed the Deathlayer just incase she was being weakened by any parasites. I notices she was clicking differentlythat longer call when there looking for the rest of the flock. She had energy was always first for any treats but she began laying down when drinking, then eating then catching herself with her wings. Some days her crop was full and others totally empty. it took months but she finally passed.

I didn’t notice the weird dried skin on her but she did get mites around her tail feathers. I trimmed the grey mite eggs off and treated her for mites. I haven’t seen mites on anyone else. I think she was weak and spent so much time on the ground she picked them up.
