Also wondering why he doesn't seem to want to stay under mama, as the other one followed protocol and did, lol!

Thank you for all the kind advice you have provided - I appreciate it more than you will ever know! The mama is letting him stay under her, and I just took a peek and he seems to be doing better. He looks better and seems to be more stable. The siblings are very playful and all over the place.
Thank you all for all the great advice - I am so appreciative to have found such a wonderful forum! I will continue to keep you all posted on the progress of the little guy. Mama hen still has 3 eggs that are ready to hatch. I believe all of them should be hatching by tomorrow at the latest. She must have stepped or jumped on one, as it is completely flat and cracked. And, unfortunately, no movement at all.. should I open it at all? I have never had any close contact with chickens before, but I fell in love with them after moving to Hawaii. Such loving and sweet animals! We feel so privileged to have been chosen by this mama hen to show us the miracle of life. I will surely miss having her in my backyard when she moves on. Thank you all again!!!
There is no guarantee that she may not decide to stay. If you provide her with shelter, and food, she will have to think twice about leaving. She will not want to abandon her chicks ether. Remember that feral chickens are not same as wild birds. Regular chickens that escaped and roam free. They are chickens that are able to survive on their own. Hawaii is ideal due to warm weather, and limited predators, as well as natural food supply year round. My feral cats that you see in avatar are not escaping, though they do roam around. They always return to get food and sleep in dry, warm facilities,(not inside home) at night.Thank you all for all the great advice - I am so appreciative to have found such a wonderful forum!
