Help with incubating baby button quail....

What are you using for a heat source? Do you have the food scattered all over the brooder floor so it's anywhere they peck? That was what was recommended to me to do until they realize what is food and where the food dish is.

Thank you, I have done my reading. I am a worrier. Heat source is the Brinsea Ecoglow and i have it at an angle, they are going to the middle and moving around which would make me think they are comfy (i have it angled so they could get closer for more warmth, further if they were hot or they could go completely away from it). Yes, I have food everywhere, I even crushed it more fine. My friend who raises them said that this is the heartache of what may happen when someone like me only buys 7 eggs .... i appreciate any input/help. I have worked so hard and was so happy (I see a lot of both happy and sad here, so I feel comfy sharing). Thank you....

Thank you all. I have read and referenced Brinsea's site and they say it is radiant heat, so you cannot measure the heat with a thermometer (the chicks absorb the heat through the air). There are 2 doing awesome, as is set up, with the brooder. I will try a washcloth as well and/or change my heat source. Thank you guys for all of your help. I want to succeed and have healthy babies.

I took the leg off the one side and have packed shavings leveled so that they can go down to the ecoglow side almost touching them over to it being up on the first rung on the far side, so it is kind of like a slanted overhang....sideways, and so they can only go one way in and out but both ways side to side if that makes sense?
