They're white crested, and thankfully he's looking much better and stronger today. Blue boy has quieted down and not so eager to test him now! So, yes, apparently it doesn't take them long to figure out what going on in the flock. It doesn't take long to figure out what is going on in a flock. Just like in the wild when an animal is hurt or injured the herd- flock etc will try and get rid of them because they will draw predators. Happens the same in our back yard flocks Purpy the sick one needs to go so to speak, so the rest will try and get rid of him by chasing him away only problem Purpy can't be chased off if he is inside the fencing. Just watch that the bullying doesn't make Purpy so stressed that it makes his illness worse. What breed are your ducks?
Yes, I have a great thing, similar to a kiddie door gate that my DLH made. My coop can open from the top, and I can slide it right down. So I use that when I have to put one of them in timeout, or just if I feel like I need to protect one for any reason. I've used it so many times for different situations.Do you have any extra fencing to divide a section for him- so they can still see each other, but not hurt each other
