Yes - thank you! I’m putting her up for the night now. I’m sure I’ll be getting up a ton of times to check on her. She’s a special chicken. Almost all of my animals got killed by a fox last May (they were my babies). I came home to them all over the yard dead and it about broke my heart - her mama usually laid an egg right before we would lock them up for the night and luckily she laid her last egg right before she was killed in the middle of the day which was super rare for her (god works in mysterious ways). Anyways the egg, 1 of my turkeys, 1 duck, and my rooster was all I found after all that. They’re all still alive and well today and she was the egg. She’s a lucky one - near and dear to my heart so I hope she makes it.I’m not sure what that is. Maybe old dried blood, or fibros material. But it is good that she is pooping. Hopefully, others will have thoughts or suggestions.
Thank you!! I’ll keep you posted and thank you so much for all your help. I greatly appreciate!!So do I.
Yes it is!Is the remaining duck a drake ?
He usually doesn’t bother any of the chickens. We got him a girlfriend awhile back that he’s obsessed with and is constantly always around. They basically do their own thing and avoid all the other animals (they’re stuck up) LOLIt is possible that he is breeding and injuring the hen. Drakes have penises - roosters do not. Drakes breeding chicken hens can injure/kill them. This may be part of what has happened to her. I would definitely separate her from him.
