HELP!!!

Babies are doing great! Still have about 5 more days until the second batch should hatch.

They already LOVE to play in their water dish lol. When can I let them swim for the first time? I'm wanting to fill the bathtub a few inches of warm water for them, hoping they will wash some of the eggs residue off of themselves.

I always let my ducklings swim, but they are always a few weeks old when I buy them. Never this young and small.

You will find mixed answers here on how soon they can go into water. If they are healthy and active, I've put them in water in the first week, just a few days old. Obvious precautions - supervised, warm water, shallow water, don't let their baby down get soaked completely, dry off quickly with towel/blow dryer/ then warmth in the brooder.

Momma duck had her babies in the pool (i emptied it to just a couple inches deep on just one side) as soon as they could crawl over the rocks to get in, like day 3! It was July, very warm outside.

Took their first bath in a warm tub haha. They loved it! I only let them stay in for a minute or two, then back in the brooder. They already splash around and try to dive.

I left it so that one end they can touch, and one end they can swim. And they stayed on the deep end swimming the whole time haha.

Irma, the one with black feet, turned out to be brown. She looks great, and is all fluffy.

Little Harvey, with the striped feet, looks black. Can't wait to see what color their feathers come in. He is clean and fluffy except for the top of his head, it's still slicked back haha. Maybe after a few more swims he will be cleaned off fully.

The black cup, is one of those to go cups you put salad dressing in. They could fit inside it easily they are so small. These pictures are from today when I took them out to have a little brunch snack haha.
