I was weeding the front garden today and a bird flew out of the weeds. all the weeds are gone and I found about 14 quail eggs!! What do I do??? There's no nest left!
I am by no means an expert, as I just hatched my first batch of quail eggs. That beaing said, I candled 20 of my 31 eggs at day 9, and seperated the clear from not clear in the incubator. 3 of my hatched chicks came from ones the appeared clear at day 9. If you are able to incubate them, I would incubate them all.
They are fairly close to the same as chicken eggs, though take less time. I ran my incubator at 99.5 to 99.7, with about 40-50% humidity. At day 14 I upped the humidity to about 65%. My first chick pipped 2 hours before day 16 started, and the first one out was about 3 hours before the end of day 16. The hardest for you is not knowing how long the hen was sitting on them before you found them. Theres really no telling when they will be ready to hatch. Personally I don't know what to do in that situation. Perhaps someone with more experience with quail might know. If it was me, with no advice from anyone, I would probably try to run it at 50-55% humidity and hope for the best.
Give it a shot Incubate them ! : ) Cant hurt to try !
