good afternoon, still foggy here, the temp is dropping so the fog will be gone and it will rain

I decided to tune up my 4" jointer and use it

I am not comfortable with the reviews I read about neither the Porter Cable nor the Grizzley..
at least with the Rockwell I have, I know what I have..
I will just have to make less aggressive cuts..
I found a motor start capacitor for my Bostich pancake compressor $16.oo + tax

and that is all I have accomplished today.

We found a restaurant that has a 2 Lobster tail special on Tuesdays. $12.98.. plus salad bar , dinner rolls and choice of potato.
makes us wonder how much another place in town can charge over $40.oo and no salad bar ?

All this lobster talk makes my mouth water. I have just been planting bushes and cleaning things up around here. Got a burn pile going i need to check.

We have lobster all year long ;) nice to be on the East Coast. They have them in the Grocery stores for like $6-10 a pound. Easy to cook.
But I only have them once every year or 2. Go figure, and it is the only water meat I eat

I have to hire someone to put up my metal carport. Just too big for me and my one little female friend. Le sigh, oh well, hope I can find someone to come soon.
(no I don't have any friends around here, long story but I got burned by a good friend and that kind of killed it for me ) :(

good morning,
My bro lives in R. I.
he used to work on shrimp boats and fishing boats. says he has had his quota of lobster.
can take it or leave it..

way back in the early 1960's we could buy 3 pound boxes of lobster bits and pieces. cheap. I had lobster for breakfast many times back then.. then the kids started to show up and the lobster went..

I got the new capacitor this morning.
and I decided not to get a jointer right now.
I don't like some of the reviews I am reading.
I found a couple on Craig's List, but they are quite a drive away.

I dug out an old table saw base that I am going to try to mount my router table onto.
then I will have to make a new fence for it.

Good for you, Jim! I went shopping today. Bought some glass to try and make a solar heater for a waterer. And a bunch of concrete blocks for a raised bed in front of the house. And a whole lot of other stuff. Got some great deals!

good morning,
wisc deer hunting season starts tomorrow.
I got an eight point buck today.
My daughter's BF was behind a car that hit the deer. the guy didn't want it so the BF called me. heck yah, I will take it. it is not busted up too badly..

I can't locate my gambrel, so I will make one out of an oak board.. then I will have two of them to misplace..

I grind up most of the deer. I like the hamburger for making chili or cowboy beans.

I save the ribs for bbq ribs..

Yes Art,
the way I prepare them :
I cut along the first rib tight to the bone.
then I cut along the second rib also tight to the bone. I do the same to all of the ribs.
this leaves all the meat between the ribs attached to a single bone.
then I take my "bone crusher" nippers and cut all the ribs into 1 1/2 " pieces.
usually a rib cage will make a large pot of bbq ribs.

I boil the pieces for about 45 minutes to an hour. all the fat and tallow cooks off.
if I let it cool, I can pick the hardened tallow off of the top of the water.
then I mix up a couple of large onions. (cjhopped), a large handful of brown sugar, a generous shake of worchester sauce, a tablespoon or so of garlic, a couple of cups of catsup, a couple tablespoons of mustard and salt.

mix the sauce thoroughly with the meat in a cast iron kettle.

cover and bake it in the oven on low heat for as long as you can stand to wait. at least an hour.

same as chili, they taste better the next day.

this deer turned out to be a young 5 pointer.
too busted up to get much meat off of.
I will grind up a big batch of dog meat with it.
