It's hard no doubt...
....the 'right thing' and the 'guilts' will tumble about back and forth for days/weeks.
Didn't hit me until the next morning when he wasn't there for the morning cuddle,
then I cried hard off and on all day. Still hits me hard once in while.
Everyone keeps telling me to get another dog, but I don't want to.
'Life without dog' is weird, but simpler too.
Maybe next summer, other issues pending.

I never talked to Frankie if she was in our bedroom.. that room was off limits until about the last 6 months. We would go to bed and a little while later she would push the door open and sneak in. Finally I succumbed and started leaving the door open just enough for her to come in.
Otherwise she would blast the door wide open and wake me up.. Not really a good sneaker..
...jiminwisc.....

The deed is done.
She was so good about getting into the car without any coaxing.
Then she went with the girl to have her collar switched without a fuss.
They asked me if I wanted to spend a few minutes with her. No thanks. She was treated like a queen all week and especially yesterday.
Did I want to be with her when they put her down ? HeII no..
GS Kalib said as we were leaving:
"I was OK until we turned into the driveway".
we will miss her, but we know we die the right thing..

:hugs sorry for your loss, it's hard. Broke my heart the last dog, was 10 years until I got this one...he doesn't have too much longer.

I kept my 2 first dogs(shepards) out of the kitchen and bedroom and off the furniture.
Then when Rascal was the only one left, he was allowed on the couch and my bed because poodles don't shed. Then dog bed on floor when he couldn't get up on the bed anymore, at the end I had to help him up and down from the couch.

So sorry Bob. :hugs

Doing the right thing can be so hard. All the hugs...

Several times today I caught myself checking to see if she was in, or out on the deck.
I have to find someone who has a dog. I have almost a whole case of canned dog food..
I'm still doing that on occasion after 7 weeks, looking for where he is.
Any shelters nearby? Have someone else drop it off, so you aren't tempted.
