good morning,
not much going on here.
still waiting for my free wood lathe to show up.
taking Frankie to the vet this afternoon for her
3 year rabies shot..
we still have the one puppy. she is 3 months old already.. getting quite spoiled..
time to put a collar on her and start teaching her some manners.. haven't come up with a name for her yet..
hope your quail show up before they are too old to lay eggs anymore..

Call her Winsome, or Winnie for short.
Feeling pretty bummed by the poor quail not showing up. If they show up tomorrow, they will likely all be dead. Only 530 miles and they can't deliver in 4 days. They should be ashamed.

Cappy, I assume you have been notified that the quail have been shipped.
maybe they went on the plane to Japan with the German Shepherd ??

we took Frankie in for her 3 years rabies shot.
had her checked up as long as we were there and had a 50% off coupon..
she was very patient with the vet. even when the vet pushed some pills way down her throat
If Frankie would have chomped down, the vet would have lost her arm at the elbow.
there was one tiny heart shaped pill that Frankie coughed up 3 times. we brought that pill home with us and I put it into peanut butter and spread the peanut butter on a one inch square of Beggin Strip. Frankie managed to sort it out and spit the pill out onto the floor.
so I wrapped the pill in a rolled up piece of thin ham.. it finally went down.. I think ..
Frankie has this trick of taking the Beggin Strips when we are treating all three dogs and catching them in her throat.. then when treat time (we call it social hour) is over, she coughs up the treats and eats them at her leisure ..

The quail came today. 17 out of 18 dead. Shipped Tuesday, never scanned during their trip. But at only 530 miles i can't believe it took them that long to get here. Really sad how little the PO cares. They just say, Call the hatchery.

OyVey!! Huge bummer. :(
Hopefully hatchery doesn't say call the PO.

good morning,
utmost bummer.
shipping chicks at this time of year is risky.
if the usps ships them by truck, it gets really
cold in the back of a truck. of course 4 days to go just 500 miles ???? that doesn't help..
I just don't trust the usps to begin with..
after the pup died on an airline, I am having second thoughts about shipping any that way any more.. but I should say, Delta is very cautious with animals..

No i gave up trying to control it and am letting it do its thing unmolested except adding water when it needs it.
My quail eggs are on lockdown today. They are due to hatch the same day i have a breast biopsy scheduled. It is coming up fast. Trying to get some maintenance done around here. I decided to just use my regular brooder for the quail. I was going to build a special one for them but ran out of time.
