I can't answer that . I assume mites because she said she was going to treat the chickens next. ?
however, it could be lice because they seem to invade every coop. ?
can't an aerosol spray kill both ?
......jiminwaUSAu....
Lice usually stay on the birds...so do fowl mites.
Roost mites need the whole coop sprayed as they only come out at night to feed.
Here a great explanation:
Good post about mite ID by Lady McCamley:

Either. Depending on which coop. Not all of them, but I want to nail any that might show up.
So you know you have mites and lice?
Insecticide doesn't really work as a preventative for poultry pests,
and can in fact create resistance.

These bugs can kill birds. The number of other bugs in the coops is small and mostly spiders. The woods are full of them.
Spider are good bugs, they eat the other ones. :D

Yet another King snake captured leaving the woods from the direction of Turkey Town! And he looked lumpy. So he may have been eating eggs. Hope he didn't kill any of my bantams.

He bit me twice, I had to grab the lower half of him because he wanted to escape back into the woods.

He is a big guy!
