I couldn't wait until tomorrow. they are talking rain, maybe, tonight. I took Ollie and tried digging the four tree planting holes. It wasn't too wet. I got all four holes dug in less than a half an hour. I could not go as deep as I wanted,. The loader arms hung up on the front axle. but if I have to dig a little deeper it will be easier without having to deal with the sod.
the holes look like shallow graves. LOL

Not feeling very ambitious today. (so what's new about that ?)
just waiting for the rain to begin,,,,again.
I have a dozen bales of straw on the pu truck that I have to stack somewhere. I want to take the truck and go get a yard of compost, asap..
My daughter uses my truck to pick up potting soil and compost. She lines the box with about 30 five gallon buckets. then all she has to do is lift the filled buckets off and the truck is emptied..
stack the buckets three high and throw a tarp over .. all set for future use..
a load of real nice compost costs about $35.oo..

Do they dump the compost into the buckets in the back of the truck with a tractor...or how do the buckets get filled?

Yes, they have a front end loader and just dump the compost on top of/into the buckets..
After the buckets are unloaded, all we have to do is sweep whatever fell between the buckets , which is not a lot..

Ha!!
Crazy!
But I guess it works.

Got both mowers up and running and the 'crucial' mowing done ahead of tonight's/tomorrow's rain storms. The older I get them more I hate mowing, mostly because of the degradation of the homestead due to my reduced ability to maintain it.
<whine>...and it's hot out there!
