The comb is rather pink and pronounced for 8 weeks and I think I see more pointed hackles coming in. But it's still early, in about a month the hackles and saddles will come in properly.
What makes you think it's a cockerel?
It's probably a Pullet if everyone else thinks so, I'm not too familiar with ees

Hey folks,
This is my 8 week old Easter Egger.

Let me know if you think this is a pullet or a cockerel. I have my guess, but I'm keeping it to myself until I hear from ya'll.

Regardless, I will keep everyone posted as they develop :)
Here is an overhead photo. Bird in question is on the left.

I got my EE pullet when she was 7-8 weeks. She is all black and has had a red comb all along. I think it may be the dark coloring that shows up more red than pink. I was sure from her behavior with our other pullets that she was not a rooster. She started laying at about 6 months, right around winter solstice!
She's Gloria because of her glorious feathers. The other girl is a Lavender Orpington. btw: they have nice nest boxes but they prefer to snuggle up together next to the poop pan when they are laying around the same time.
