Hen acting strange help! Pics added

There is a very good article on fungal infections here http://msucares.com/poultry/diseases/disfungi.htm if anyone else is dealing with this might want to check out......... also here http://www.candida-cure-recipes.com/antifungal-herbs.html ....please ask your vet before trying any of these, because I do not know for sure if they will work on chickens, cedar is listed here and we all know that cedar is poisonious to chickens...........SO PLEASE CONSULT BEFORE USE WITH A HERBALIST OR VET!!!!!
also I think the ACV will help alot because fungus lives in an acidic environment, and ACV neutralizes the PH, you could also ask the vet if you can give your chicken goldenseal root, its a very good anti fungal in people, but I have never used it on animals, never had a fungal problem yet and hope I never do.......Kim

The story of my three hens' problems with fungus is on a thread at
Weakness & Starvation from Internal Fungus and Mites

They had some mites for part of the time, but weakness & other problems continued long after, from the fungi.

Note--I don't agree with everything posted as possible treatments on that thread, though some I think are correct & useful.

Another side note: In that thread, I mentioned using Moxidectin horse dewormer for chickens, but I wasn't impressed that it seems it didn't help with the mites. I read later that the spectrum of safety for Moxidectin isn't very broad for horses. So I'm no longer very enthusiastic about using that for chickens.

GhostRider--

Thanks for sharing some good references! I will see if there's anything I could maybe add on my "Fungal Infections" page from these, also.

The MSU page says there isn't a real treatment for birds that have fungal infections. Not very many people are aware of Oxine, yet, & MSU must not have been at the time the page was posted. Oxine is an emerging treatment for fungal infections, and not enough people know about yet.
I've seen antifungal medicines such as Nystatin mentioned on some other websites for some fungal conditions, but I don't remember which ones.

Good point to double-check on safety of herbs for chickens! I know black walnut is poisonous to horses, etc.

Oh that's awesome thank you for sharing :D
I'm going to make sure to stick with what ever the vet suggests though, I want to be safe.
Though she is happily drinking her ACV watter :D So maybe its helping?

I'm glad it;s not Mareks. I don't really know anything about fungus, I know I've seen amphotericin mentioned, but it's got too many things against it.

I hope your hen recovers, and you find out where she got the mold from.

Update: The stool sample came back! And even better news! Kinda...
The good news is ZERO live mold.
The bad news is: round worms, and Cocidia is present. She thinks that plus the posible mold ingestion is what is causing all of my birds to die.
SO! Aparently my feed is not medicated like I thought, and now I need to treat her ASAP in hopes that she will be alright.

Great news!

Either not medicated or medication is not effective against your strain of coccidia.
