Hen acting strange help! Pics added

She has scrambled eggs in with her, I like to give her an option :D But at least today she ate on her own even though i had to hand feed her! Still has not touched the eggs, but I will keep trying!
Benoite clay, where can you get that? *Runs off to search the net*
Now what is ACV? I have been giving her this powder that helps with digestion? Pidoes or something like that.
Thank you!

I don't think it would hurt her to keep her on it a day or 2 more.. then try eggs boiled or scrambled ...... I just found this thread and haven't a clue, but sounds like some kind of toxic thing is going on try giving her Benoite clay, natural volcanic ash its suppose to absorb toxins and heavy metals, mixed in her mashed wet feed also give her ACV to help in digestion and blood cleansing, in people I would say red clover, but never have given it to my chickens, maybe check and see if they can have it. if they free range they most likely will eat it naturally during the growing season, so I don't think it would hurt her......Best of luck in curing her, I really will pray for her and you..Kim.

I use a ts. per quart, or 3 TLBS per gallon.......I buy it by the gallon, please make sure its real ACV not the crap the store sells as ACV that is not the real thing with the mother, Braggs is the only kind of real stuff I know of or have seen..... seems to help them stay healthy, by adding flora to the gut......... mine like it and if plain old water is in the their outside bowl, they look at me like wheres the good stuff........ but they drink it none the less.

Update: Well she is still not eating as well as I would like her to. Her poop is still tiny, but turning back to brown instead of black.
I think this is good, but how long do you think it will take until she is eating on her own again? And why is she still not eating?
I gave her some of the apple cider vinegar and she was not happy with me, shes not used to it and found it yucky.
Good news though! She did try to get away from me! She actually struggled to get away, so i have high hopes that she is getting better :D She seems to hate me again!

...wait...

1 caution re. apple cider vinegar: I think my chickens have ulcers in their guts right now, & I've been putting ACV in their water sometimes.

One day they had a bowl of ACV in drinking water in their coop, & when I went & added a second bowl that had some med in drinking water, they went & guzzled from the second bowl. I don't think they really like that med, but I think the vinegar had been making their ulcers burn so they much preferred the other water.

Since then they've seemed not very enthusiastic about any water, but I think they've started eating bedding that's gotten wet--going to clean it out today.

With people, there are conflicting claims about whether ACV is good or bad for ulcers...

I don't know if your girl has gut damage & if so, whether ACV would be hurtful or not for a kind she might have, but there's my experience for any case in which it might help.

I only gave her a little bit so i just wont give her anymore. She hated it to begin with lol.
At the moment all she is doing is sitting? She can stand up, but shes not doing much of anything else.
How long should I be hand feeding her before she starts to show signs of improvement

If she has a fungus (mold or yeast) in her:

She can have temporary times of feeling a bit better. Follow the dietary guidelines that are listed on the PoultryPedia.com "Fungal Infections" page to strengthen her system and fight the fungus.

As weak as she is, her system is very unlikely to be able to fight off the fungus without an antifungal medicine or Oxine AH.

Thqat is falsehood associated with Raw ACV use here is a clicp from 1 of many articles on the help people recieve with ulcers from using ACV
An ulcer, a break or tear in bodily tissue, usually occurs in the stomach or small intestine. Ulcer signs and symptoms include abdominal pain, nausea and bloating. Though ulcers are caused primarily by e-Pylori bacteria, many things can trigger discomfort from ulcers, including smoking, alcohol and stress. Several treatments and remedies are available for peptic ulcer, one of which is apple cider vinegar. Apple cider vinegar is used to treat pain from ulcers because of its neutralizing effect on acid in the gastrointestinal tract.
Step 1

Obtain a raw, organic and non-distilled brand of apple cider vinegar. The latter has more enzymes and contains "mother," a milky, cobweb-like formation in the container that is evidence the vinegar has not been refined, filtered or distilled and contains most of its original nutrients

Step 2

Shake the container of vinegar well to redistribute the nutrients. Put water into a glass and add1 tbsp. of vinegar. Use as much or as little water as you need to lessen the taste of the raw vinegar. Mix well with a spoon.
Step 3

Drink this mixture whenever you feel pain from your ulcer, until the pain starts to subside. Drink more than one glass of the water-vinegar mixture if necessary. As a preventive measure, drink the mixture a half-hour before meals.

I have used this treatment for many years with my Husband who suffers ulcers out breaks during stress....... I also have given it to all my animals Dogs Cats, Horses Pigs, and myself take it whenever I get heartburn...... SpeckledZHill if your chickens do indeed have ulcers you should licorice root, marshmellow root, or slippery elm powder also increasing there omega 3 oils would do them a great deal of good......Kim

I tried the ACV - once- on myself due to "tummy troubles". All I can say is I will never make that mistake again. Aside from the fact that the taste made me nearly puke, my stomach felt like someone had poured liquid fire into it for several hours. Of course anyone else feel free to use it however you want, but my chickens need never worry about me trying to get them to drink the stuff.
