Yep. Ill see what happens. I know its a closed flock and cant rehome. Maybe she'll calm down...but my other old birds dont do that. I moved the feeder and waterer to the floor so they have to get down. Maybe its a territory thingWell, to me that is fairly normal behavior for a higher ranking bird over a lower bird. But you have decide what you are willing to put up with. You could try caging her for several days to see if that makes a difference, but chickens are hard headed.
The "booger" poop looks like Albumen (egg whites) to me that would indicate some type of reproductive problem.
I'm very sorry that you are at the end of your rope. If they are causing this much stress for you and the others, then culling is probably the way to go. You can't re-home them with health issues.
Good idea about moving the food and water. Yes, it's territorial behavior.Yep. Ill see what happens. I know its a closed flock and cant rehome. They literally starved all day. Did not get down at all. Not even for mealworms or sunflower seeds.Good idea about moving the food and water. Yes, it's territorial behavior.
I'm not sure. They've been up there since I got them. My one roo, Duck is in love with Pei Pei. She's never seen a roo in her 7 or so yrs of life and gets scared. Pom pom did go outside for the first week and then started walking funny and lives on the shelf now. Always has food in the crop at night, but still watery diarrhea. I took a photo of the 11 sleeping on the table tonight so I can look at the poops in the morning. It won't hurt to put some vaseline on the legs.
Do the shelf chickens get picked on by all the others?
