I am hoping some of you may be able to help me with a Silkie question. Basically I started with 3 silkies and a pilkie, 13 weeks old and in the knowledge that 1 was looking like a possible roo. They settled in well, the suspected roo started crowing and everything was fine. (No eggs yet).
Then I saw someone looking to rehome 1 silkie hen. I felt bad for it, and after a few weeks gave in. I know adding 1 hen isn't ideal. The lady assured me the hen was laying eggs so was definitely a hen. I made it clear I already had a roo and couldn't have another.
Now I have it, I am worried I've been taken advantage of. Are my silkies just bantams and this new one a big hen? Or do you think I've been tricked?
It's been nearly a week, and no eggs but also no crowing from it. The new one is the white one. Photos of my others for reference. Any advice appreciated. Thank you.
I still have the new hen in a separate run inside the main run. My current Roo seems uninterested. My orange pilkie hen tried to peck at it and has now settled down. I dont want to release it into the flock if it's another roo as I love mine and don't want either getting hurt.
