Thinking our rescue Australop pullet Pidgy McNugget is a cockeral. The face is a little redder. Born around May 15th and is a bantam size chicken. So about 3 months old. Hasn't crowed yet.

Pretty pullet. :) I don't believe bantam Australorps are available (not in the US, at least), so I'm more inclined to think she's a mix of some sort.

I just guessed. She was found in someone's back yard. So the really long tail and rosy cheeks doesn't mean roo? Metallic feathers. The tail is really long.

Definitely a mix. From what I see I am going to guess she is a bantam pheonix mix.

I agree, pullet. Some pullets and hens can have long tail feathers, and the metallic quality doesn't mean much on a bird. All black birds will have a sheen like you describe, no matter the species or gender. Given her age, and how small her comb is, and not very red, she's gotta be a pullet. When she's ready to start laying, her face and comb will get even more red; the comb bigger.
