What an odd situation. There are three of us on one well.
....and you're all owners, not renters?
Ah, I see you're in Vegas...desert water rights.

What an odd situation. There are three of us on one well.
Greetings! There are three of us on one well. One of the neighbors does pay but only after months and months of us requesting payment....last time they paid, after 18 months, they owed us a whopping 3700.00 (there was a repair as well as electric). So, you can see why they drag their feet. The other neighbor hasn't paid in 4 years! Our problem is that the original owners of the houses (the ones we had a well agreement with) are gone. And the new owners don't want to sign a well agreement. So, the agreement is currently that we pay the bills and loathe our neighbors (yeah, no cookies are exchanged during the holidays).
My worry about Mr. Wilcox and his vocal skills have more to do with the surrounding neighborhood. When we moved to our property 18 years ago, there were maybe 10 houses here and there. It was horse property. Then about 10 years ago the developers came and bought all the surrounding land and built very nice large semi custom homes. They became part of the city. Our patch is still county. So we live on a county island in the middle of a vast fancy neighborhood....filled with fancy pants folks that don't like the smell of horse poo, and, I'll assume crowing roosters. I'd move but after 18 years my trees are finally big and beautiful and I just love my house. This is Vegas. The city will always catch up no matter where you go.
I don't know the history of the former Mrs. Peepers. I figure he was either taken because he was in an area not zoned for chickens...he hasn't made but a few little clucks so far... .so not for noise, or possibly cock fighting. A few years ago they busted a man who's backyard was filled with rooster cages. It was very sad.
We haven't got the swarm here, as in entire chairs (and such) covered in grasshoppers, but we have way more than usual. At night our stucco is dotted with a variety. Big ones, green ones, brown ones, mini ones, ones that look like they have little horns, not usual for us. We are in the northwest...40 mins or so from The Strip, high on the slope.Hey @Shellvegas did ya'll get any of that grasshopper swarm?
Hi, it's 102 here too. We have a sky of clouds and the humidity is horrid. I really miss our old neighbors. I don't know how these two houses were sold without the well agreement. I suspect these people thought that the well water was free when they bought. This kind of behavior is so Vegas. Very transient society here. It makes for a lack of general caring.Oh, that well situation makes for impossible good neighborship I'd say. I used to live in a private court and everyone had to sign a contract to share the cost of maintaining the street. You don't sign the agreement to care for the street, you can't buy there. Too bad they were not forced to sign or not be able to buy, makes it very hard for you. Enjoy your chickens! It's 102 degrees right now here, must be hotter there! Stay cool!![]()
Sounds like you may need a lawyer more than a rooster.I don't know how these two houses were sold without the well agreement. I suspect these people thought that the well water was free when they bought.
What do the chickens think of the grasshoppers???We haven't got the swarm here, as in entire chairs (and such) covered in grasshoppers, but we have way more than usual. It's up to 105 here now. It will start to come down soon with evening. I doubt that the people thought water was free. . .nothing is free. Sounds like just taking advantage because they can. Sorry you have to deal with folks like that.Hi, it's 102 here too. We have a sky of clouds and the humidity is horrid. I really miss our old neighbors. My husband grabs a few in the morning and throws them in the coop (Thunderdome). My chickens aren't free roaming. Too many coyotes here. What do the chickens think of the grasshoppers???
