I have a hen with a prolapse. I trust Azygous and am trying to acces her article regarding this. when I click on above it says oops, unable to access. Is there any other place this article is posted? ThanksDo not try to remove that hard scab. It's a pecking injury, and it may heal with adequate wound care. Frequent cleansing followed up with application of wound ointment such as Neosporin can help heal it. As for care of prolapse, we have no clue as to the "guides" you've seen on the internet, which can range from the truly worthless to the truly dreadful. You might stumble onto something useful, but it's hard to know if you've struck pay dirt.
Here is an article I wrote from my own experience treating prolapse. https://www.backyardchickens.com/ar...hanging-from-vent-prolapse-oh-my-what-to-do.7 It will explain the cause of prolapse and how to go about treating it. Warning, it can be arduous and time consuming, requiring commitment of focused time and energy.
