I've since been in touch with the breeder and he's thinking araucana/leghorn mix. Which would explain the comb and crest..My money is on a silkie or legbar mix, possibly with white rock, wyandotte or Rhode Island white.
For comparison, here are two of my silkie wyandotte mixes. These two had feathered feet, but their siblings did not.

British tailed araucanas have crests.That mix would not explain the crest. Neither breed have crests.
