Roll out nest boxes but I would still find out which ones are doing it and remove it or them. The more it goes on the more other chickens will pick up the habit.

I agree. Lesson learnt. I really enjoyed the contrast of keeping silkies but I think these different roosting habits mean that combining them in a mixed flock has caused a problem I've never had before.

I have not tried it, but have seen a plan for DIY roll away nests using paint trays.

IMHO the paint trays aint long enough and the birds will still get to the eggs.
