Hens eating pine shavings

Some of my hens seem to like eating pine shavings. Is there reason for concern?

If pine shavings are bad, my chickens are screwed. they love to scratch around and eat the little bits.

Not unless they eat so many that it clogs up their crop.

Provide Granite Grit and no issues. Mine eat them too ..

Except that grit works in the gizzard - not the crop,
so grit will not prevent the crop from becoming impacted.
'Good granite grit' is not found in all free range areas,
best to provide it in a separate container.
