Silly or stupid, not sure which it is.
But today there have been a couple down pours of rain here in Massachusetts. They did not go in the coop. Instead they are just hanging out looking for bugs.
It is even thundering out.

Anyone else have Hens that do this ?
My hens 10 years ago never did this, they always went in the coop.

One of my chickens goes inside in the rain. The other doesn't. She gets very wet and looks like a roast chicken running around the yard. She strongly objects to being toweled off, but it's winter here and she shouldn't be such an ungrateful little madam!

Yeah, some of my chickens go in while others prefer to stay out. I hate to see them so soaked because I get afraid they'll get sick or something, but like Ol Grey Mare said, they are chickens and we aren't.

Yeah, I think due to the rain, they actually went into the coop for the night on their OWN!

They are about 10 weeks. Nice to know they finally figured it out.

We also just got a HUGE rainbow ;)

I was wondering the same thing myself. I got drenched this afternoon trying to get them to go into their coop. They had no desire whatsoever. I ended up leaving them outside and watching from the window.
