Here I Am Again... NOW, Day 21..All Four Have Hatched..DONE!

Third chick of the four has hatched, a second Barred Rock. This one looks darker than the first so far, so maybe this is my pullet. Hard to say till it dries off some. The last Ameracuana is working hard to get out and then all four will be done.
***The second Ameraucana has hatched. Guess you might call this one a 100% hatch. I did remove one egg that was not fertile early on. Will get pics later on.

So, what are you hatching next????

I have a couple more Barred Rocks, a couple of pure Blue Orps, a couple of Ameraucanas then two Ameraucanas due two days after that batch. Oh, and I put Caroline's humongous "goose egg" in the bator as sort of a science experiment. I thought I say two yolk shadows on candling the day I collected it and it wouldn't fit in a carton, so I thought I see how far I could get the twins to develop. That group is on Day 5 tomorrow.

Just one-the Hovabator- I only have those few eggs going right now. The Fridge-a-Bator is the hatcher, so we just powered it down and will take out the tray to clean it and it's ready to go again when Day 18 gets here on Nov 11 or so. Helps to have a separate hatcher to transfer the eggs to.

Don't know how much more hatching I'll be doing, at least with the Ameraucanas. I'm seriously thinking about filling my egg orders through the first part of December, then selling Scout and Silver as a breeding pair, providing I have gotten two or three Ameraucana pullets to hatch. I'd keep Charlotte because I'm way too attached to her and use their little hexagonal coop with the covered pen for a broody and chicks, when I get one. I have people who want Ameraucana eggs in the spring, but I may have to make my apologies to them if I do that. I go back and forth on it all the time because Scout is such a good boy and I'd miss him, but the Ameraucana breeding venture wasn't something I really planned. I would rather concentrate on the Blue Orpingtons and the Barred Rocks. It'd make things a bit easier to just have the two groups rather than three. BUT, all plans are subject to change, like I always say.

What's wrong, Bobbie? Bator troubles again?
Karen, your eggs are packed up and will be mailed out tomorrow a.m.-dont be confused if they come from a TN p.o.. I live at the TN, GA, NC juncture area. There are five from Caroline and three Ameraucanas.
