This is a great [and very informational] website about breeding and genetics if anyone else is interested. Now I just have to hope that my boys aren't all splashes and my girls aren't all black :)

And from the way it's looking, ending up with 10 chickens, 5 of them being splash I think I did pretty well :)
is that for silkies as well ?

It's for any breed of chicken

It's day 21 for us tomorrow too. I guess day 21 starts for us tonight. Ours are all regular sized (mixed) breeds. I haven't looked inside since about day 15, and they were looking good then.

question:: i have a hen that is broody,,well i also have had serama start hatching on me in the incubator which are very fragile and hard to raise so i was wondering if i could take her eggs and put the chicks under her and let her raise them and what would be a good time to do it if i could????

All I've ever heard is to do it at night while they are sleeping. Wish I knew more. My broody hens sat on shipped eggs and have done a fantastic job hatching and raising my chicks ~ 6 silkies and 3 mystery chicks. Good luck.
