HERE WE GO AGAIN Anyone SETTING Aug 30th - Sept 8th join me!!

trying to incubate eggs is not very fun right now. I am so aggravated! Got up this morning to the temp at 97, got it stabalized at 100 and left for work. Came home to it 104 just now! I'm sure we've lost these eggs.

This has not been a kind first attempt. I was so excited when I candled and got 3 to 4 of 8 with growth at 4 days. We have been having such trouble with temps, but none this bad. I guess the thermostat is shot in this old Little Giant I borrowed. It was fine for over a week until I put eggs in it.

yeah, there is a whole thread on trouble shooting those incubators... I would try and find it... Has a lot of info. BTW, I had eggs get to 108 and still hatch. Not sure tho how long they were like that...

I have heard people say that their has gone to 104 and they still had a hatch. Don't give up. I have a LG also and I have it set at 100 and every night it goes to 99. Since I am running my hatch dry and I keep both of the red plugs out, I am going to put them in at night to see if the temp will stay at 100 over night. Maybe you can do the same. Stabilize you daytime temp with the red plugs out. Then put them in at night to keep you temperature up. Worth a try.

My first incubation in a homemade battor I was using no thermostat so my temps were crazy...I was on vacation and had almost no sleep checking the battor all the time. Lost the power 2 times, and found the bator in a temp of 107, had my humidity too high...I ended up helping my eggs hatch and ended up with 5 out of 12 eggs. When the temp spiked I was sure they were dead but decided to keep going just in case.. Glad I did. Did I mentioned they were shipped eggs????

And now there are times that doing everything right I end up with 0%hatch...who knows...

I got EE OE and super blue layers. I set 3 SBL under my broody, I really hope those hatch...

Yoooohooooo!!!! What day is hatch day??? I only have 2 SBL's out of the black Am, but it's looking like only one is growing.

Day 1 for me was sept 8. My hatch day should be Sept 28.. I will be candling tonight to see...but I'm scared I'll see broken cells and nothing more like the last 2 times. But deep down, I feel hope...

This is my very first time incubating shipping eggs. The eggs I received from Donna came in IMPECCABLE condition and at my first candling it looks like most of them are growing - yay!!! So I'm excited to hear your news . Maybe wait till day 5/6??

Is it harder to candle blue/green eggs? It is only day 4, but I see nothing different then before I set them. Just a dark form at the large end of the eggs. I know there would only be veins at this point, but would I see them through this color shell? Hope day 7 is more exciting.

She did a GREAT packing...and yessss.....l should wait for candling...Maybe I should candle a few to calm my anxiaty...LOL

Yes. Much harder. At day 7 or 10 you will see a dark blob moving if you have a really powerful light

I just candled some of the am eggs. With the blue shell is difficult to see so early (or ever). In some I saw nothing in a few I saw a something, something that resembled veins....I just candled 5 out of 28....at day 7 I'll candle them all. Good luck with yours.
