HERE WE GO AGAIN Anyone SETTING Aug 30th - Sept 8th join me!!

I still have 2 weeks! When I first found out it only took 21 days for a chick to develop in an egg, I thought "wow, that is pretty fast" . Lol, now I don't think it is fast enough!

The last couple of days are the worse!!! Time seems to stand still and if you think you are checking the bator every hour now just wait it will be double that as it gets closer...LOL.

Hey Brook. I would love their details to see what they have - could you PM their contact details? I could do a local pickup - yay!! I just found some super people local to me on the Florida thread who have laying Delawares - yay, been looking for them for ages! Things sounding good in your bator. And that's with shipped eggs hey?
They are located up in Citrus County I believe, so it would be a few hours drive for you. No, they are not shipped eggs. The gentleman actually hand delivered them to me on his way to work.

yall, I am moving to Germany next year. so I already have ppl wanting all my chickens...lol
oh i could do this forever... can't wait for hubby to retire..ol

hahaha I bet you be a great enabler
and oh got the hubby things handled - lol BUT as much as I do not like to say (hehehe), he may be right. That is his point, he just doesn't want to deal with the colder weather, brooder in garage and/or in a little building right beside garage etc.

I have to admit, not that it's getting old, but after this batch I think I will be ready for a break from the whole "mother hen" role, at least for a bit.

I just started with chickens in June, have 33 now (not including the 16 viable eggs in incubator right now) and all but 8 have started out in our brooder under light and not all at once. It's like I get 6-10 graduated into coop and have another 6-10 going into the brooder. Momma needs a break. I'm going to try my best to be strong after this hatch and wait until at least January
me too! I can't hatch any more if I want to have room for my next hatchery order in the spring. I love having a bunch of different kinds of bird and I'm missing a few that I REALLY want. Like hamburgs, so I can call them my hamburgers in the chicken coop. :)

Hope it works out for you BUT if not...hatch some more dont let it get to you...Its a learning process.

Just candled my own eggs.
Shipped in heat and i had the humidity 60 the first 2 days whooops!!! then let it get to 22 more than once Whatever ...i only see 3 that look pretty good The rest of 18...Look bad. WAy too little inside to be so near day 18 which is tuesday BUT maybe i will get a couple chicks i hope .My last hatch for the year.Too cold here to have more now.BOO I'll miss everyone until Feb or March...Start again...
I'm excited and hoping that with Lacy sitting on them the whole humidity/temperature thing won't be a problem for me. I can't wait to see an egg being pipped or zipped, LOL It is all new and exciting and sharing it with all you guys who have done this before is really helping me. I will be a proud momma here in a few days.

Believe it or not the 1/4"plywood was the $22 and the 1/2" was $16. I really do not want to go with the heavier wood. Wire is not cheap either. Ended up getting mine from Tractor Supply. Yesterday I went into Walmart and looked at their latches and hinges. They were cheaper than Lowes so I will probably end up buying them there.Love your coop. Can you take some pictures of the inside? Would love to see where you put the nesting boxes and roosts. What dimensions is it? I actually went out and purchased a Ryobi set of power tools from Home Depot.($100+.) Hated spending the $$ but now that I have used them I can honestly say it was well worth it. The drill alone has saved my hands in building both the incubators and run. Love the little circular saw that came with it too. I bought a table saw off of Craigslist for $50. Works great too. As soon as I have mine together I will post some pics too.
Your sounding like me - I just HAD to buy a pnuematic nailer to make my coop. Just finished the brooder - now on to the next one!
